About Gary Yurt

Gary YurtA senior safety manager with more than two decades of professional experience, Gary Yurt currently serves as the founder and President of Industrial Safety & Training Services, LLC, of Prospect, Kentucky. In this executive capacity, he oversees a staff of seven responsible for aiding clients in establishing emergency response and safety management protocols at industrial sites, food manufacturing centers, hospitals, and other facilities. In addition, Gary Yurt teaches corporate safety teams procedural rules and standards set forth by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Before opening the doors to Industrial Safety & Training Services, Gary Yurt held executive-level safety management positions with Borden Chemical, Inc. (now known as Momentive Specialty Chemicals Inc.), and General Electric Company. Directly prior to founding his consultancy, Gary Yurt worked as a Safety and Emergency Management Manager at Borden, a role in which he oversaw safety operations for a production facility staffed by more than 500 employees and served as the site expert in security matters, emergency response, and fire protection.

Throughout his career, Gary Yurt has balanced his professional duties with academic advancement. He holds several degrees and certificates, including a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Risk Management and Safety Engineering and a Master’s degree in Loss Prevention and Safety Administration, both of which he earned from Eastern Kentucky University.

At Industrial Safety & Training Services, Gary Yurt and his crew specialize in developing affordable solutions to environmental, health, and safety problems, a business objective that has led to significant growth for the firm in recent years. Specific services he and his staff provide include auditing and updating emergency response programs, assessing the compliance of safety and fire protection tools, and advising clients in the upgrade of their safety and emergency response systems and equipment. Gary Yurt’s success in the industry led to his company’s hiring by BP P.L.C. as a cleanup consultant in wake of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Classified as a safety officer by the National Incident Management System, he worked with cleanup crews in Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama.
